Dr. Marsha L. D. Chism

Marsha Lynne Davis Chism is a baby boomer from the mid-fifties. Her spiritual principles are belief in God, acceptance of Jesus as personal savior and treat others as she wants to be treated. Her major accomplishments are (a) receiving Doctoral Degree in Management with an emphasis in Organizational Behavior and Leadership from the University of Phoenix, Phoenix AZ; (b) received certification as a Grief Recovery Specialist from Grief Recovery Institute, Berkley CA; and (c) founder & president of  AMK Grief Recovery Care, Inc. Marsha feels her role as an African American woman is to provide wisdom and knowledge to generations to come by continuing the journey of women who paved the way.

Marsha’s natural skills are organizational leadership, planning and organizing, development, fundraising and hospitality. At an early age she was introduced to the field of volunteerism and fundraising leadership by performing community and neighborhood services to improve the daily lives of peers, church friends and neighbors. As a result, she developed her drive to give back to the community and to make a difference. The focus of employment has been that of making a positive and meaningful difference in the lives of individuals.

The greatest inspiration was her 101-year-old great-aunt, Adell Puckett (Nantie), who was a 55-year breast cancer survivor. Her wisdom, spirit, tenacity, and love are what helped make Marsha the woman she is today.

Dr. Chism is a member of the Bronze Voices Handbell Choir and Nurses Guild (President 3 years) at First Baptist Church of Hamilton Park (FBCHP), Richardson TX.  She served as Assistant Recording Secretary for the South Dallas Business and Professional Women’s Organization and is the Secretary for The Lady General Foundation.

She has been the keynote speaker for Hamilton Park Community Civic League; Women’s Day speaker for Koinonia Full Gospel Church, Dallas TX (3 years); seminar speaker for AK Legacy Foundation; workshop speaker & facilitator for Women’s Ministry, FBCHP; Grief counselor & board member for Magnifying Our Mothers (MOM) organization. Dr. Chism is a contributing author for the book “Path to Peace” by Angie Ransome-Jones and served as a panelist for Twin Cities Radio Network I.C.A.R.E., focusing on grief recovery.
